What first attracted you to a career in dentistry?
I initially fell into dentistry when a neighbour of mine knew of a dentist who was looking for a new dental nurse. I then worked in various practices as a dental nurse and began to gain post-qualification examinations in radiography and oral health education. This was a key driving factor in my applying to become a dental therapist. I was extremely lucky to gain a place at the Royal London Hospital being only one of eight dental therapists trained during that time in the whole of the UK.
