Career development

2 mins read Opinions

My friend and colleague Jane Dalgarno has very recently been inaugurated as the 55th president of the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN). Jane has worked full time in dental nursing since 1986, in addition to studying for a variety of additional qualifications, and volunteering countless hours to the BADN. She is passionate about her chosen profession, and endlessly supportive of her dental nurse colleagues, and their education and development. Another colleague, Dr Janine Brooks MBE, kindly presented me with a copy of her recently published book, How to Develop Your Career in Dentistry (Brooks, 2015). These two events prompted me to reflect on career development for dental nurses.
