When did you first start working in dental nursing?
In 1979 I started in general practice in Bolton. I did that for three or four years, then got the opportunity to work at Bolton Hospital doing orthodontics, which I loved, mainly because you get to know your patients. Most patients come to see you for the best part of two or three years, which is lovely because you get to watch them grow, and then if they’ve got siblings who need treatment, that cycle starts all over again.
How did you know what direction you wanted your career to go in?
