Beating the burnout

From time to time we all experience periods of stress in our lives. This can sometimes be beneficial for us, it helps to motivate us to reach our goals and perform at our very best. However, too much stress can cause us to lose motivation, lack inspiration and interest in our jobs and make us feel completely exhausted. All of this combined can lead us to the inevitable: burnout. Burnout is described as a state of emotional and physical exhaustion from periods of high stress, related to workload. The World Health Organisation (WHO) describe burnout as an ‘occupational phenomenon’ and without the right support, burnout can lead to serious periods of sometimes debilitating depression.
