Using screens has become commonplace for most people these days, often for extended periods of time. Although our near-constant use of handheld devices is a relatively new phenomenon, researchers are already finding that overuse of screens can be detrimental to our health.

As technology advances, more and more professional roles that were traditionally paper-based are moving to digital systems, which require employees to spend more time using screens. Paired with the vast entertainment, social media, and digital services available to us outside of work, it’s no wonder the average person uses screens for around seven hours each day.

But does too much screen time really damage your eyesight? In this article, we explore just how much is too much when it comes to screen time.
