A warm congratulations

Mark Garner speaks with Amy Ciobanu about her passion for dental nursing and her recent winning of the ATU Dental Graduate Award.

Why did you choose to go into dental nursing?

I was interested in studying general nursing for some time but didn’t want to do shift work while my children were small. My friend suggested dental nursing to me as an alternative. I knew next to nothing about the career at the time, but as I looked into it I realised it would suit me quite well.

What do you enjoy most about the role so far?

I really thrive on patient interaction most. It’s nice getting to know the regular patients and being able to help people. I find all aspects of dentistry really interesting and, in particular, love assisting with the more unusual procedures.
