
I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. At school, all my friends had big ambitions and dreams of being pilots, doctors, or chefs, whilst I was left in a bit of a muddle as to how I wanted my future to look.
I faced many challenges through my teenage years, not just the normal ‘girl hits puberty’ sort with all the delights that they offered. I was diagnosed with a condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia which is a condition where my heart suddenly beats faster than normal, which caused me a lot of other issues. In the end, this meant I spent a lot of time in hospitals testing for various conditions. This also meant it affected my GCSE grades and I didn’t achieve anywhere near what I had hoped. I was never one for understanding books and reading, so when I finished secondary school I had no desire to take my education further and decided to look for a different path.
