Dental nurse Carly-Ann Durgan regularly works in the treatment room with Megan Hatfield, a specialist in orthodontics and practice principal at Wetherby Orthodontics in West Yorkshire. Carly-Ann has a certificate in orthodontic nursing and is also a treatment coordinator. Carly-Ann, 36, qualified as a dental nurse with the National Certificate in 2010 and then as an orthodontic dental nurse in December 2014. She has been working at Ashby Dental/Wetherby Orthodontics since July 2009 – ‘I guess I’m part of the furniture,’ she smiles. Here, she talks about her path to becoming an orthodontic dental nurse.
