Jodie Sedgwick.
Having had a good 45-minute workout in the gym, I drive to work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude for what the day may bring. Most days, I am in the practice at least 30 minutes before I officially start so that I can get my surgery ready. This involves checking which patients need a new medical form and preparing materials or equipment, all enabling us to begin on time and provide patients with a great service.
As head dental nurse, I have various jobs within the practice. In surgery, I ensure everything is in working order and help to ensure compliance with the various infection control protocols. I also help with the appointment diary – for example, if someone cancels I will see if I can bring someone else forward to fill the slot and maximise efficiency.
