This article meets GDC development outcomes C and D.
When you are working full-time, have a busy family life and are trying to juggle so many of life’s trials and tribulations having to undertake enhanced continued professional development (ECPD) can seem like a real chore. This article will highlight the ECPD requirements for dental nurses, why it is important to undertake regular ECPD and how to source information to help manage this aspect of working life.
It would be tempting to undertake ECPD because it might be easy to access, close to home, quick to do or a topic we have a particular interest in. If you find a dental subject difficult, then booking a course around it can fill you with dread. The resolution lies in turning this into a positive and seeing this course as a learning opportunity, even if it is an evening course after a long working day.
