Michelle Lock is a qualified dental nurse and Boxercise instructor. Here, she reveals how she is balancing work with pleasure

Michelle Lock is 44 years old, has been a dental nurse for 28 years and works part-time at a busy NHS practice in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

For her, keeping fit has always been a part of her routine and, whilst she recognises that as a dental nurse, ‘you have to be well organised, punctual and be able to multi-task’, the all-essential ability to switch off is a key part of her day-to-day life.

She says: ‘It is important to able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative. You also need to be calm, caring and a hard-working person. As a dental nurse, it is nice to feel you are able to help patients – especially when they are nervous or unhappy.
