A fulfilling role

Brittany Pittham discusses the key responsibilities of an orthodontic treatment coordinator.

To give you a little background before we begin, I started my career in dentistry as an apprentice at Inspired Dental Care in Exeter in 2017. Once I qualified, I immediately wanted to progress my role and expand my scope, gaining post qualifications in dental radiography, implant nursing plus suturing and suture removals. Over the last few years, I developed a real interest in what makes a dental practice great and strived for a perfect patient journey. I was promoted to lead TCO for orthodontic, Invisalign and implant treatments and take great pride in constantly bettering our practice’s workflow. I wanted to be involved in my practice’s constant progression and I am currently the registered CQC clinical manager, ensuring BDA best practice clinical standards. Besides running TCO and nursing clinics, I love being chairside to assist in implant and sedation appointments.
