Our newest editorial board member, Rebecca Silver, turned 30 in May. Here, she shares some tips to spark up your career as a successful dental nurse

For many people, turning 30 years old is a significant milestone. To some, it marks the end of youth, while others see it as the beginning of a more mature chapter of adulthood.

In the Friends' episode entitled 'The One Where They All Turn Thirty', Rachel has 'ground rules', for her celebration with the gang, banning the words 'old', 'downhill' and 'they still look pretty damn good' from being used.

But it's not all gloom and doom. We are living longer and the opportunities available are wide and varied – especially as a dental nurse. Whilst the current pandemic may have put paid to any immediate career moves, it has also opened up many opportunities to reflect on careers and, in author Rebecca Silver's case, given her new experiences. She is involved in working on the frontline, fit-testing FFP3 respirators to key health workers. You can read about her experience in this issue. Meanwhile, here, Rebecca, who turned 30 in May, lists her top 30 tips to light up your career.
