1 min read Communication/patient education
The British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN) has announced its support of the Diversity in Dentistry Action Group’s (DDAG) statement condemning the recent riots and disorder fuelled by racism and islamophobia across the country.

The statement, released by the DDAG, has condemned the unrest and violence taking place over the country and understands “the personal impact these events will have on the workforce and communities.”

The DDAG have expressed their commitment to “advocating for and calling out discrimination, prejudice and bias”. Also, they have urged the profession “to stand strong and in solidarity with each other regardless of race, ethnicity or faith and to continue to provide oral health care for patients during this challenging time with the kindness, respect and dignity that they always have done.”

BADN is a non-political independent trade union and welcomes dental nurses of all backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths, nationalities and races as members. BADN does not tolerate racism, discrimination, abuse, hate speech, spreading of misinformation, xenophobia or other offensive behaviour.
