Dental team raises money for charity in rafting race

1 min read Volunteering
The Community Dental Services CIC (CDS) team in Bedfordshire has been recognised by the Mouth Cancer Foundation for its fundraising efforts.

The team raised over £1300 and was awarded the charity's platinum award for fundraising.

The team, comprised of six employees (senior dental officers, dental nurses, a specialist in special care and CDS’s clinical director), built a raft and took part in the Bedford River Festival’s raft race, finishing third in their heat and sixth in the final.

The team aimed to have fun, raise awareness and fundraise for the Mouth Cancer Foundation. The charity is dedicated to helping and supporting those living with or at risk of mouth cancer, throat cancer and other head and neck cancers.

The Mouth Cancer Foundation also provides valuable assistance and information to families, friends and carers of those affected by the disease.
