The award, presented by Sunstar in collaboration with the European Dental Hygienists Federation (EDHF), has six categories. These include:
The awards celebrate professionals’ excellence in patient care, community work, education and research. Dental hygienists can either nominate themselves, or a colleague for the awards.
All nominees need to be a registered dental hygienist, and all entries have to answer a set of short written questions to briefly outline the nominees’ achievements in the set category.
Entries will be judged blindly and reviewed by an independent selection committee of internationally recognised dental hygienists, with one winner selected per category. Each winner will receive €1,000 and automatic entry as a candidate for the 2026 World Dental Hygienist Awards, celebrated at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene (ISDH) in Milan, Italy.
