BioMin Technologies Ltd, manufacturer of BioMin F, BioMin C and BioMin F for Kids toothpastes, is delighted to support research in oral health care by sponsoring the annual BSDHT poster competition.

The awards, which were presented at the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy’s national Conference in Glasgow, recognise and celebrate the outstanding level of UK research undertaken by dental professionals, particularly hygienists and therapists.

First prize went to Lauren Barry, a dental therapist in the Community Dental Services, Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust, for her research entitled, ‘Use of the social story in dental therapy’, a case study of successful use of dental therapist skills in special care dentistry. Lauren’s prize is £400 towards a place at any conference in the UK or overseas.

Second, a free place at an Oral Health Conference (OHC) in 2022, plus travel and one night’s accommodation, was awarded to Cherise McColl, a student at the time of the research for her project, ‘Investigating the effectiveness of pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to aid dental fear and anxiety in paediatric patients’.
