Association collaborates with domestic abuse network

1 min read Workplace issues/your health
The British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN) has announced its membership of the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA), a leading business network that supports employers to take action on domestic abuse.

EIDA works with employers to help them implement effective internal policies on domestic abuse, as well as providing awareness and signposting to up to date resources.

Preetee Hylton, BADN president, said, “BADN is proud to join EIDA. As a survivor of domestic abuse myself, I feel very strongly about raising awareness on this subject in dentistry – both for our dental team colleagues and our patients. Imagine if every dental practice made their staff aware of the signs of domestic abuse, provided appropriate support to their staff and told them how to seek relevant, effective help. That sort of wide-scale, societal impact requires informed action by dental practices, and by dental leaders such as BADN, supported by EIDA with their guidance and resources.”
