As delegates flocked to the Great British coast for this year’s ADI Team Congress in Brighton, there was a sense of fresh optimism in the salty springtime air. Whilst the temptation for many arriving in the vibrant city is to head to the seaside or explore the artistic delights in the city centre, dental professionals (who would indeed also make the most of being in such an idyllic setting), began this year’s conference in the cool comfort of the Brighton Centre. This year, the conference set sail with a warm welcome from ADI president and implant and cosmetic dentist Zaki Kanaan, who emphasised the importance of, “the whole team effort” in order to achieve the highest quality and longest lasting results in dentistry. Zaki acknowledged that whilst in the past, events like the ADI have struggled to be inclusive of the entire dental team, this year there is more emphasis than ever on the undeniable fact that, “Every dental role is essential” and that it is only through adopting a more collaborative spirit that, “successful, predictable and long lasting implant treatment” can be achieved.
