A charity helping those unable to access dental care in the UK and abroad has received a bumper pallet of 2500 impression trays, vital to producing dentures.

The donation from Clyde Munro Dental Group is worth more than £2,000 – and will be used by Den-Tech as the first step to helping vulnerable individuals in the UK to get dentures.

Craig Barclay, Project Consultant at Clyde Munro, said: 'It has been a privilege to be involved in this project as we have been able to support a charity that does amazing work helping those in urgent need.

'Depending on how quickly and how much of the products Den-Tech use at a time, the trays should last for at least one year and go onto help around 1,000 individuals.

'The impression trays have an expiry date of 10 years meaning there is endless possibilities for their usage, which is a key reason why the redistribution of the materials was extremely important.

'Den-Tech provide vital dental care for the homeless and we are proud to be contributing to such a worthwhile cause.'

Andrea Johnson, Den-Tech Chair, said: 'We are really grateful for Clyde Munro’s generous donation and have experienced first-hand just how significant the products are.

'When Clyde Munro first sent us the sample products and offered to send a pallet full of them we we were so incredibly surprised and grateful for such a generous gift and we eagerly accepted the kind donation.

'The impression trays will be used primarily during Den-Tech@ Christmas project which provides annual dental services alongside the Crisis@Christmas clinical dental service over the Christmas week.'

Crisis@Christmas is a project where clinical dental workers are invited to volunteer their time and skills to carry out much needed dental care to the homeless in a safe and controlled environment and the Den-Tech team provide the much needed on site lab support to make same day dentures for their homeless guests and complete the cycle of care.

The connection with Clyde Munro and Den-tech emerged as a result of a previous donation project, Smileawi, which saw hundreds of boxes of dental equipment donated to a Malawian based charity.
