Gillian Milne, a senior dental nurse at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee has been made a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the New Year Honours. She is recognised for services to maxillofacial surgery patients in Tayside.
Roger Matthews, formerly of chief dental officer of Denplan, becomes an MBE, Professor Jeremy Bagg of Glasgow Dental School is awarded an OBE and an MBE is awarded to Wendy Smith, Community Engagement Strategic Lead at Peninsula School of Dentistry for services to oral healthcare and dental education in the South West.
