As a nation, we’re facing challenging times in our fight against coronavirus and are being asked to stay at home to help save lives. Our dental practices across the UK are only offering emergency care, to ensure we all follow the government’s social distancing guidelines and to protect patients, dentists and practice teams. With the latest statistics revealing that tooth decay was the main reason for child hospital admission in the UK in 20191, and tooth extractions in under 18s costing the NHS approximately £36 million2, it’s essential that parents understand the importance of caring for their children’s teeth and start tending to them the moment they emerge through the gums.
