A. Dental nurses are now seen as a vital part of the dental team, with a role to enhance the patient journey and help deliver safe and effective treatment.
A. Professionally, I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to be the first dental nurse to be recognised in this way. I think the inclusion of dental nurses on the GDC council gives a clear message that we are seen as being able to participate as equal members within the profession, have the knowledge and skill required to contribute to the board and are able to provide valuable information on both the clinical and non-clinical aspects.
