As dental nurses, you know only too well of the drawbacks of your role. Assisting the dentist with instruments, materials and equipment can often involve twisting or stretching movements that can result in overuse of muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, soft tissues, and joints.

Over a long period of time, this may cause repetitive strain injury to the upper areas of the body. It is therefore hugely important that you take measures to prevent this.

For those gym goers among you, this may have been how you minimalised the negative effects of your role working inside a small surgery. However, whilst lockdown meant you were no longer spending your days sitting in awkward positions for lengthy periods of time, it also meant you couldn’t get your daily fix of stretching and exercise.
