An Instagram inspiration

Eloise Meldrum is a 24-year-old dental nurse with a passion for the job that’s palpable. With two years under her belt, she’s already thinking about her next step into dental hygiene – and her ambition does not stop there. She is one of a number of dental professionals who are harnessing the power of the internet to raise the profile of the positives of the profession. With dentists' Instagram accounts aplenty, there are few dental nurses who have taken on a similar challenge of nurturing a social media account that reaches out to patients and peers alike.

Eloise explains: ‘I wanted to bring a positive light to dentistry and show the real side of the profession to overcome the more traditional and negative images. I wanted to show people what it is like day to day in a dental surgery, as it’s one place we rarely glimpse behind the scenes and a place that holds not just a lot of negative vibes, but also a lot of mystery.’
