A simple trick to reduce alcohol consumption

New research from the Addiction journal suggests that UK households consume 6.5 per cent less wine when drinking from smaller glasses (290 ml) than from larger glasses (350ml).

The occasional drink at the weekend or after work is common for many people. But high alcohol consumption can have negative effects on oral health. Data from Public Health England suggests that for heavy drinkers there is 38 times the risk of developing oral cancer.

The trial collected data from 260 UK households for two 14-day intervention periods. The households were selected from the general population based on consuming two 75cl bottles of wine per week.
