In my role in the education sector, I present information daily to facilitate teaching. You would think it would make the looking back and reflecting on presentation delivery quite easy but, I'd suggest, that’s far from the truth.
To begin with, delivering continuing professional development (CPD) presentations for the Society of British Dental Nurses (SBDN)was very much out of my comfort zone. Looking back at my first CPD presentation, I was not nervous at all until around one minute into the topic and then it hit me, almost like a shovel in the face.
And yet, this was a large group of mixed dental professionals to whom I was speaking on a topic I deliver in teaching endlessly – so much so I could not even count how many times I’ve delivered it. However, that spot where I stood felt very alien. This has, thankfully, become much easier with time.
