Writing for publication. Part 6: series summary

11 mins read Professionalism/career development
This series has been exploring how dental nurses can develop their skills by writing for professional publication

This final article in the six-part series will recap the previous five articles that have discussed writing for publication.

Part 1 started by encouraging all dental nurses to think seriously about writing an article for publication (Fowler, 2015a)

Writing for publication is an achievable aim for any dental nurse provided that you are motivated, and that you choose the right topic. What could your topic be about? Do you know something about an unusual medical or dental condition that, with some additional research, you could put together a useful article?

If you or one of your close relatives was a diabetic, a haemophiliac, or was especially scared of dentists, for example, then you could use that experience and insight to write an interesting article that combined your dental knowledge and experience together with a patient’s perspective; what a great article that would be.
