This series is aimed at dental nurses who want to develop their skills and share some of their knowledge or experience with other dental nurses by writing an article for professional publication

Most clinical nurses that I talk to, including dental nurses, general, and mental health nurses, do not feel that writing skills are their greatest asset. The majority would list clinical and relationships skills as the ones that they practiced daily and were most skilled at; with writing reports, evaluations, and essays as the ones they rarely practiced and that they were least confident at. How do my general observations of nurses writing skills compare with reflections of your own? If you are thinking: ‘I'd like to write an article for a journal such as Dental Nursing, but there is no way I have the confidence, time or ability to do so’, then this series of articles is for you.
