Throughout my nursing career, I’ve had the privilege of working for and working with some very successful people. I’ve also witnessed people at the start of their careers developing, learning and eventually becoming very successful senior nurses.

There are many factors that influence people’s professional development, but one factor that seems common to so many people I have talked to is the way mentors have influenced their development.

Take a few minutes to reflect upon your own professional and career development. Start from when you were at school.
