I suspect you enjoy, like many other clinically based professionals, the practical side of your work but feel less confident when it comes to the written communication aspect of the role. Written communication is, however, a skill and, like any skill, if you understand the rules and take time to practise, then your skill will improve. This series will give you some simple guidelines for a number of different situations in which written communication is important for the dental nurse. This will include patients notes, care studies, electronic communication, literature reviews and research, incident reporting, raising concerns, business plans, portfolios and reflections, CVs and letters of job application.
