It has been well established that interdental cleaning leads to better oral health. Research clearly indicates periodontal health advantages associated with cleaning between the teeth.
In a recent survey carried out by the Oral Health Foundation, 34% of people are using interdental brushes whilst 31% still prefer floss. There has been a large increase to 62% of adults interdentally cleaning their teeth from just 19% in 2007. It has also further been confirmed by the Oral Health Foundation that brushing with a toothbrush only cleans three out of five surfaces of a tooth. Furthermore, recent studies indicate a clearly established relationship linking poor oral health to various systemic health conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, dementia and pregnancy complications.
