4 mins read Patient education
The increasing desire for facial aesthetics offers new opportunities for the dental team. Dental nurse Wendy Mahon, treatment coordinator with Tracey Bell Dental Clinics, talks about the need to embrace them

I am dental nurse, treatment coordinator, mentor and ‘mother hen’. The principle of the role of dental nurse is still the same as when I qualified and worked in the NHS. It makes my job more interesting as I experience a wide range of both clinical and surgical treatments day to day

Making the right impression with your smile is imperative. Over the past few decades, the cosmetic dentistry industry has grown exponentially. Technical developments in dental restoration material, such as E.max, Zirconia crowns, veneers and bonding restorations, have played a big role in generating interest amongst many people. Cad/cam systems have become available in some private dental clinics, which have enabled dentists to achieve results in one or two sessions. This fits perfectly with people who have got more disposable incomes but are time poor due to busy lifestyles.
