Dental nursing, like other nursing specialities, is based upon an underpinning theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, psychology and sociology and a number of other topics, which are then translated and applied to clinical practice. In addition, there are a number of specific clinical skills that can only be taught in the practice setting.
The first article in this series explored how you could enhance your learning from a textbook. This article now explores that other important aspect of learning, that which occurs in the clinical area.
Do you have a driving licence? If so, think about how you learnt to drive. If you haven't learnt to drive yet, then apply the following to a similar skill that you have learnt. Let's consider some ways not to teach someone how to drive.
