Dental nurse Michaela Coate reveals how reaching out to those who need us most is made easy with the support of a national oral health charity scheme

A routine task, like brushing your teeth, to me is just that – routine. However, it's clear that this (twice) daily essential does not form part of everyone's normal ablutions. This got me thinking about the reasons why people fail to brush their teeth and whether they needed a little help to do so. As someone who knows the value of good oral health, it made complete sense that I should reach out to give the community in which I live a little help. I know I cannot reverse years of neglect, but what I knew I could do is help stall the progress of dental disease and/or prevent the proliferation of ignorance on its importance from one generation to the next. That's why I got in contact with BrushUpUK.
