Once upon a time, it was more than likely that the headphone-wearing commuter opposite you on the train or that runner out for a morning jog were listening to music to pass the time. But quite likely, it may now be more of a spoken word or a learning experience that are ticking people’s boxes while on the go. An increasing number of us are choosing podcasts over popular music to keep us entertained while out and about. Statistics suggest that more than a quarter of all podcasting hours are listened to while travelling, with six million adults – or 11% of the adult population – using a podcast in an average week.
