In my experience throughout my coaching and consultancy practice with dental professionals, self-doubt has been shown time and time again to disrupt their performance, costing them time, performance and opportunities.
A recent review commissioned by the General Dental Council (GDC) on mental health and wellbeing in dentistry examined the devastating impact that work stressors have on the wellbeing, performance and overall quality of life of dental professionals. In response, this article will highlight the need for us, as professionals, to better understand the causes of those work stressors and the ways in which we can respond. It will also demonstrate ways to overcome the effects of self-doubt, by exploring your innate strengths to greater improve your performance and wellbeing both personally and professionally.
