Dental Nursing: Has it been a good start to the year for BrushUpUK?

Megan Thomas: Absolutely, the charity grew so much last year that we had to hold back on some projects, as we didn’t have the resources to deliver all our programmes. That changed this year when we received our largest ever, single donation from the FiveGoForth Challenge. Five dental business consultants cycled over 10,000 miles in 15 days to raise funds for three charities – Cancer Research, Bridge2Aid and BrushUpUK. We have received more than £10,000 and are so incredibly grateful.

We also received £1,000 from our local Tesco’s ‘Bag for Life’ campaign (you know the one where you pop a token into one of three local charities boxes, so the store then decides how to apportion their funds). This is project-based funding and is going towards our postnatal visits to ensure new parents have the dental toolkit they need for their new additions.
