Most people understand the importance of good oral health. With more focus than ever before on improving oral health care in a hospital and care setting or within the home environment, everyone is aware of the consequences of failing to maintain a healthy mouth.
Poor oral care is linked to so many other health complications, so awareness is key. We are often hardwired into thinking that everyone can clean their teeth – smear toothpaste onto a toothbrush, stick it under a tap to wet it and brush for two minutes, twice a day. Hey presto, done!
Of course, there are more steps and thought processes than that but, in essence, it is a simple task. No issues, no dramas. People who don’t, or won’t, clean their teeth are simply neglectful, surely?
