First of all, what are expectations? And before we talk about managing them, how important is it to assess if they are reasonable or not? According to the dictionary an expectation is ‘a strong belief that something will happen or be the case’.

Expectations are very individual so are naturally going to be different for everyone, and while this is not an extensive list it does reflect my personal thoughts and feelings about what is reasonable to expect and what I have come consider (after 37 years in all different fields of dentistry) important. Bear in mind that what I consider reasonable, you may disagree with.
