Do you know what your mobile phone number is? I’m fairly sure you do and, if I asked you to write it down on a piece of scrap paper, then I’m sure that, with just a little concentration, you would be able to do so with relatively little problem.

Yesterday, I made a phone call to a plumber, trying to arrange a call out only to be answered by a machine asking me to leave my telephone number after the beep and they would call me back. I waited for the beep and then started saying my mobile number but muddled up the number and couldn’t remember it properly! I somewhat embarrassingly apologised to the machine and left my landline number with no problems.
