Kim Littlefair explains the ins and outs of assisting with orthodontic treatment

In a world of ever changing and improved dental treatments, orthodontic care has never been so important – or popular. According to the NHS, more than 220,000 children and adults in England, Scotland and Wales started orthodontic treatment in 2017. And with these numbers comes a demand for orthodontic dental nurses.

Kim Littlefair has been a qualified dental nurse for more than 10 years, and has continuously embraced opportunities to expand her skillset. She’s now a senior dental nurse and orthodontic treatment coordinator, working alongside the specialist orthodontist at Andrea Ubhi Dentistry.

Before her current role, Kim worked as a receptionist. But she finds her current role more rewarding when it comes to staff-patient relationships. Trust, she says, plays a huge part.
