Dental nursing can take you anywhere – as Charlotte Callaway-Goldstone recently demonstrated when her latest venture with dentist Paul Cassar caught the attention of the UK’s media.
The duo – from Grange Dental Surgery in Chichester, West Sussex – were assisting a team of vets from the British charity International Animal Rescue and Armenian group FPWC (Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets) in Yerevan in the former Soviet state as they extracted the four teeth of a bear that was struggling with a painful abscess.
The bear – 19-year-old General – was rescued from a private zoo kept by a former Armenian army general and politician.
