How important has it been to reassure patients that it is safe to return to their dentist?

For some patients, coming to the dentist can be scary at the best of times. I believe that clear constant communication and trust is key. It is important to reassure patients that all of the measures and policies that have been put in place are to ensure that the practice is safe. They need to know that everything we are doing is compliant to regulatory guidance and the government’s phased reopening of practices. This assists us so we are able to continue giving great quality of care – even if we look slightly different with our PPE! I have already heard a few patients saying they feel safer, even though we look scarier.
