Carole Houston reveals how breast cancer treatment affected her dental health

Carole Houston worked as Communications and Marketing Lead for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) before taking up a similar role with Horizon, Blackpool’s drug and alcohol support service. In May 2018, Carole spoke at the Dental Nurses’ Forum, chaired by the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN), at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show with her two colleagues Adi and Karl, who had both been heroin addicts. The trio later spoke at the 2018 National Dental Nursing Conference in Blackpool to raise awareness of how drug addiction can affect teeth.Carole also organised two ‘All I Want for Christmas’ events for Horizon, supported by BADN, the Oral Health Foundation and Dentaid, which provided dental treatment for Blackpool’s homeless and those in recovery. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2019 and shares her experience here…
