Ola Hassan splits her week between two different positions. She works part time for the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where her role involves supporting the restorative consultant, providing outreach clinical teaching for undergraduate students as well as general dental work. She then travels back home on a weekly basis to London for a part-time associate position in a mixed NHS and private practice. She was born in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. Both her parents were born and brought up in Iraq and fled the country and Saddam's atrocities during the war in the 1980s, taking refuge in neighbouring Iran. Ola explains: ‘During the Iran-Iraq war, my parents could no longer see a safe future for myself as well as my younger brother and decided to make the move to Europe.
