Following on from my stint of abstinence during Go Sober for October, I decided to go another month without booze during Dry January. Believe it or not, I did not miss it – and, as a consequence, have reduced my intake considerably. This got me thinking...
Six years ago, I ran a half marathon for a local hospital where a team cared for my sister who had leukaemia. Sadly, my sister passed away but left me with the feeling I wanted to give something back – so training started and, seven months later, I ran the half marathon. I wasn’t the quickest but I did it, and I felt fit. That was six years ago and I’ve slowly started to regain the weight – it’s time for change.
