A good education!

Fiona Seed outlines the importance of a dental education for everyone.

When going out into the community to promote oral health, it really does prove this is a topic that isn’t discussed enough in schools, nurseries or care homes. I personally have qualifications in both dental nursing and oral health education which enable me to go out into the community and promote oral health on a regular basis. This is, in my opinion, more important to do than ever, as people in the UK are struggling to get into dental practices, which is causing a rapid decline in the general population’s oral health. Therefore being able to provide basic, free knowledge can go a long way to helping prevent long-term issues. This is why I’ve decided to write an article here in the Dental Nursing Journal to try and emphasise and promote the importance of oral health education in a variety of different settings.
