A full circle

3 mins read Professionalism/career development
Mollie Craig has great reason to celebrate. Not only has she just achieved a first-class honours degree when we talk to her, but she also received Teeside University’s special award for her academic achievement and work ethic.

As Ruth Woodhouse, practice owner of Grange Dental in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees, where Mollie began her dental nursing career and where she is now practising as a newly qualified dental therapist, says: “At the practice, we are ridiculously proud of Mollie. We're so excited for her to come full circle and have her work with us again in her new role as dental therapist. She's a huge inspiration for our team, and I'm sure would also inspire other dental nurses wishing to take a similar career path.”

Mollie began working at Grange Dental in 2017, where she started her training as a dental nurse. She recalls: “The mum of one of my best friends is a dental hygienist and she told me about the course. I hadn't really heard of hygiene and therapy. So, once she'd discussed it with me, I knew when I started dental nursing that that’s what I ultimately wanted to do. I was very lucky to have the ongoing support from the practice and the team in every step of reaching my goal.”
