Radiation Protection

DentEd is proud to announce our latest course in association with Dentaid.  All Dentists & DCPs (which includes Dental Nurses) are required to do 50 hours of verifiable CPD in a 5 year cycle.   Our one day course will provide 5 hours of verifiable CPD.

Learning outcomes for DCPs:

ü  Describe the nature and effects of ionising radiation.

ü  Define the sources of radiation dose to the UK population.

ü  Identify and quantify some of the radiation risks involved in dental radiology.

ü  Describe the radiographic process.

ü  List the requirements for processor management.

ü  Identify common processor film fault.

ü  Compare a range of digital imaging systems.

ü  Carry out equipment safety checks.

ü  Outline the principle components of the IRR1999 and 2000 legislation.

ü  Identify the impact of the legislation on clinical practice.
